Found a deal on Marketplace, Gumtree, anywhere? Dela secures the payment and sorts the shipping, so neither of you has to trust a stranger. No scams. No dodgy bank transfers. No carpark meetups.
Dela is the trust layer that sits between buyer and seller. We're not a marketplace. We don't list items. We protect the deal once you've found each other on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, a uni buy/sell group, or anywhere else.
Buyer and seller agree on a price. Both open Dela and set up the deal with the item details and agreed amount.
The buyer pays on Dela, and the payment is processed securely through StripeStripe is a global payments provider trusted by companies like Google, Amazon, and Shopify. They process billions of dollars in transactions every year. Your money is in safe hands.. It's not sent to the seller yet. The seller can see the funds are locked in, and ships the item through Dela's couriers or their own. The tracking number is logged in-app either way.
Once the item is delivered, a 24-hour timer starts. The buyer checks everything is all good and confirms in the app, and the payment is released to the seller. If something's wrong, Dela steps in to resolve it before the seller is paid.
Buyer funds are processed by Stripe. The seller gets paid once the buyer confirms the item is all good
Book a courier through Dela or use your own. Either way, tracking is built into every deal
Every seller is verified through Stripe Identity before they can sell
Every deal is protected. If something goes wrong, Dela has your back
We're looking for 50 students to join the Dela pilot. You'll get $150 in Dela credit to buy whatever you want, from whoever you want. In return, you help us prove that buying and selling between real people can be completely safe.
Applications are open now and close 1 July. We'll let you know if you've made the cut after applications close, then the pilot kicks off 10 July. Only 50 spots, so get in early.
Use your $150 Dela credit to make real deals. Buy a textbook, a pair of headphones, a desk lamp. Whatever you need, from any seller.
Textbooks, furniture, tech, clothes. Students are constantly buying and selling to save money. You're already doing the deals. Dela just makes them safe.
Fake listings, ghost sellers, dodgy payment requests. If you've spent any time on Marketplace or Gumtree, you've either been burned or know someone who has. Dela makes those deals safe.
Facebook Marketplace, uni buy/sell groups, Gumtree. You're already active in the places where deals happen with zero protection. Dela changes that.
Find something you want to buy from anyone, anywhere. Download Dela, create a deal, and share it with the seller. At checkout, enter your credit code to apply your $150. That's the core of the pilot.
Once your deal is complete, we'll send you a short feedback form via email. Tell us what worked, what didn't, and what you'd change. It takes a few minutes and directly shapes the product.
Want an extra entry into the prize draw? Share your Dela experience on socials during your deal and tag @dela_aus. Totally optional, but we'd love it.
Buy something you actually want. Textbooks, tech, furniture, clothes. It's real credit to spend on a real deal. Item, shipping and fees included.
Get hands-on experience with a live fintech product in its early days. Chat directly with the founder. See how a startup actually works from the inside.
Every deal is protected. The seller is only paid once you confirm the item is all good. No scams, no risk, no dodgy bank transfers.
Participated in a fintech pilot. Gave product feedback that shaped a live app. That's something you can actually talk about in interviews and applications.
When the pilot wraps, we'll be celebrating at a Transformer founder x student event run by Bond towards the end of July. There'll be a prize draw for everyone who completed a deal and gave feedback. Posted about Dela on socials during the pilot? That's an extra entry into the draw.
Applications are open now and close on 1 July. After applications close, we'll let you know if you've made the cut. The pilot then kicks off on 10 July and runs for 3 weeks. Spots are limited to 50 students, so the earlier you apply the better.
You'll receive a coupon code to use at checkout. It covers everything (the item price, buyer protection fee, and shipping costs) up to $150. You can buy something for less than $150, but unused credit doesn't carry over to another deal. If the total comes to more than $150, you just cover the difference yourself.
In this pilot, you're the buyer. Find something you want, buy it through Dela using your credit, and complete the deal. You can buy from anyone outside the pilot: a seller on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, a uni buy/sell group, or even a mate. The only rule is that the seller can't be another pilot participant. Whatever you want, as long as it's within Dela's Terms & Conditions (no alcohol, drugs, weapons, etc).
Very little. Creating a deal on Dela takes less than 10 minutes. The feedback form is also quick. Most of your time is just finding something you want to buy and waiting for it to be delivered, which you'd be doing anyway.
Yes. The seller will need to download Dela to complete the deal on their end. You create the deal and share it with them, and they follow the link to get set up. It's quick and free for them. Sellers don't pay any fees on Dela.
Your payment is processed securely by Stripe and only released to the seller once you confirm the item is all good. If something's not right, Dela steps in to resolve it. That's the whole point. Every deal is protected.
Yes. The pilot runs for 3 weeks and your deal needs to be completed within that window to be eligible for the prize draw and to participate in the feedback process.
Yes. Payments and identity verification are handled by Stripe, the same provider used by platforms like Uber, Airbnb, and Shopify. Dela only collects what's needed to run your deal, and you can read exactly how we use it in our Privacy Policy.
At the end of the 3 weeks, we'll be celebrating at a Transformer founder x student event run by Bond, with a prize draw. Everyone who completed a deal and submitted their feedback is entered. Posted about Dela on socials during the pilot? That's an extra entry. We'll announce the prizes closer to the date. Trust us, you'll want to be in the draw.
