This is Dela.
Dela is the trust layer that sits between buyer and seller. We're not a marketplace. We don't list items. We protect the deal once you've found each other on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, a uni buy/sell group, or anywhere else.
Create the Deal
Buyer and seller agree on a price. Both open Dela and set up the deal with the item details and agreed amount.
Buyer Pays on Dela
The buyer pays on Dela, and the payment is processed securely through StripeStripe is a global payments provider trusted by companies like Google, Amazon, and Shopify. They process billions of dollars in transactions every year. Your money is in safe hands.. It's not sent to the seller yet. The seller can see the funds are locked in, and ships the item through Dela's couriers or their own. The tracking number is logged in-app either way.
Confirm and Release
Once the item is delivered, a 24-hour timer starts. The buyer checks everything is all good and confirms in the app, and the payment is released to the seller. If something's wrong, Dela steps in to resolve it before the seller is paid.
Pay Securely
Buyer funds are processed by Stripe. The seller gets paid once the buyer confirms the item is all good

When does the pilot run and how do I apply?
Applications are open now and close on 1 July. After applications close, we'll let you know if you've made the cut. The pilot then kicks off on 10 July and runs for 3 weeks. Spots are limited to 50 students, so the earlier you apply the better.
How does the $150 Dela credit work?
You'll receive a coupon code to use at checkout. It covers everything (the item price, buyer protection fee, and shipping costs) up to $150. You can buy something for less than $150, but unused credit doesn't carry over to another deal. If the total comes to more than $150, you just cover the difference yourself.
What do I need to do, and who can I buy from?
In this pilot, you're the buyer. Find something you want, buy it through Dela using your credit, and complete the deal. You can buy from anyone outside the pilot: a seller on Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, a uni buy/sell group, or even a mate. The only rule is that the seller can't be another pilot participant. Whatever you want, as long as it's within Dela's Terms & Conditions (no alcohol, drugs, weapons, etc).
How much time is involved?
Very little. Creating a deal on Dela takes less than 10 minutes. The feedback form is also quick. Most of your time is just finding something you want to buy and waiting for it to be delivered, which you'd be doing anyway.
Does the seller need to download Dela?
Yes. The seller will need to download Dela to complete the deal on their end. You create the deal and share it with them, and they follow the link to get set up. It's quick and free for them. Sellers don't pay any fees on Dela.
What if something goes wrong with my deal?
Your payment is processed securely by Stripe and only released to the seller once you confirm the item is all good. If something's not right, Dela steps in to resolve it. That's the whole point. Every deal is protected.
Do I need to complete my deal within the 3 weeks?
Yes. The pilot runs for 3 weeks and your deal needs to be completed within that window to be eligible for the prize draw and to participate in the feedback process.
Is my information safe?
Yes. Payments and identity verification are handled by Stripe, the same provider used by platforms like Uber, Airbnb, and Shopify. Dela only collects what's needed to run your deal, and you can read exactly how we use it in our Privacy Policy.
What's the prize draw?
At the end of the 3 weeks, we'll be celebrating at a Transformer founder x student event run by Bond, with a prize draw. Everyone who completed a deal and submitted their feedback is entered. Posted about Dela on socials during the pilot? That's an extra entry. We'll announce the prizes closer to the date. Trust us, you'll want to be in the draw.
