What is Dela?
Dela is Australia’s trusted payment and delivery solution for online buyers and sellers. It’s not a marketplace; it’s the trust layer that sits between any deal. Dela uses Stripe to securely hold funds until both parties are happy with the deal, and we streamline the delivery process with built-in trusted courier bookings and real-time tracking. Dela makes online deals safe, simple, and stress-free.
With this protection, Dela prevents scams and dodgy meetups, and replaces it with security and confidence.
Who is Dela for?
Dela is perfect for anyone buying or selling any goods online – from high-value items like electronics and designer gear to everyday items like furniture or collectibles. It is for the hustlers, resellers and casual traders who want to ditch the stress and deal with trust and ease.
How does Dela’s payments system work?
When a Buyer pays for an item, the funds are held securely via Stripe. The money is only released to the Seller once the item has been delivered and confirmed by Buyer. The Buyer has 24 hours to accept or reject the deal. If nothing is actioned within 24 hours, the deal is automatically successful, and funds are released to the Seller.
Why do I have to pay a fee?
We charge a small Buyer Protection Fee to keep both parties happy. This covers:
- Holding payments
- Shipping integration
- Identity verification
- Deal flow transparency

Can I return my order?
At Dela, we understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned. Because we’re not a traditional marketplace, returns are only available under specific circumstances. Once the item has been delivered, the buyer has 24 hours to accept or reject the item. If the buyer wants to return the item, you will need to reject the item and follow the next steps. If the buyer does not action either within 24 hours, the deal is automatically successful.
Here’s how it works:
Returns may be approved if:
- The item received is significantly different from what was described
- The item is damaged or faulty upon delivery
- The item is lost in transit and cannot be recovered
Returns won’t be available for:
- Change of mind
- Fit or sizing issues (unless incorrect to the listing)
- Items that match the listing but don’t meet personal expectations
What to do if there’s an issue:
If you believe you’re eligible for a return or refund, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery via chat and provide:
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos (if applicable)
- Your order reference
Refunds can take up to 10 business days to reflect in your bank account.

Do I have to meet the buyer or seller in person?
Nope. With Dela, all shipping can be handled in-app. Choose from trusted couriers, schedule pickups or drop-offs, and track everything in real time.
Can I use my own courier?
To make your shipping experience as seamless as possible, Dela integrates with AfterShip—a powerful tracking solution that connects with a wide range of trusted courier partners. We recommend booking directly through Dela to keep your deal fully protected. If you choose to use an external courier, please ensure it is a courier registered with AfterShip.
